Choosing PE Bag Sizes for the MP-550 Cork Vacuum Packaging Machine
A cork vacuum packaging machine must use a bag that fits both the cork batch and the packaging process. A bag that is too small may be difficult to fill or seal. A bag that is much larger than required may produce a finished package that is awkward to handle and place in a carton.

Start With the Quantity per Bag
The first decision is how many cork stoppers each bag must contain. That quantity determines the volume entering the bag and affects the space needed for filling and sealing.
Cork length and diameter also matter. The MP-550 is not restricted to one fixed cork size, but a change in cork size or batch quantity can change the required bag dimensions.
If the line uses a Cork Visual Counting Machine, the counter releases the required quantity before packaging. The bag and filling arrangement must accommodate that complete batch.
Check Width and Length Separately
Bag width affects how easily the counted corks enter the PE bag and how the material sits during packaging. Bag length must allow for the cork batch as well as the area needed for handling and sealing.
For the MP-550, the stated PE bag range is:
- Width: 450–600 mm
- Length: 200–850 mm
These dimensions describe the machine’s applicable bag range. They do not mean that every combination within the range will suit every cork quantity. Fangshiheng should test the proposed bag with the actual cork batch and required finished-pack shape.
Match the Bag to the Selected Program
The MP-550 allows vacuum packaging and SO2 gas injection functions to be selected through its program. The chosen process should be stated before the bag sample is approved.
Bag material, thickness, sealing area, and finished appearance need to be checked with the selected program. A sample run can show whether the bag fills properly, seals as required, and can be handled consistently after discharge.
The required SO2 process and operating settings should be confirmed for the customer’s application. The article does not assume that every cork package uses SO2 gas injection.
Check the Finished Bag Against the Carton
Bag selection should continue through the final packing step. A PE bag may run correctly on the MP-550 but still be difficult to arrange inside the intended carton.
Before approving the bag, confirm the finished package dimensions, number of bags per carton, carton opening, and loading method. This matters particularly when bag loading and carton sealing are connected in one line.

What to Send for Bag Testing
To evaluate a PE bag for the MP-550, provide the actual cork sample, target count per bag, proposed bag width and length, bag material and thickness, selected packaging program, and the carton used after sealing.
The sample test should check filling, the sealing result, finished-bag dimensions, and the way the bag moves to the next station. Expected output can then be assessed with the approved cork and bag combination.
